Cross-Cultural Communications with Mexico

What You Need to Know for Successful Business Ventures

As U.S. business markets continue their rapid, global expansion, individual workplace environments are also increasingly being transformed as a result of the addition of affiliated geographic locations which span numerous cultures.  Both the exploration of business opportunities in new territories, as well as the day-to-day workplace interactions of US personnel with their overseas colleagues and counterparts, can create cross-cultural challenges in communications even where all individuals and parties concerned are working toward a common goal.   Join OWIT-Phoenix on Thursday, June 20, 2013 for an interactive program that will focus on the importance of fluency in cross-cultural communications when doing business in Mexico. June’s program will focus on:

  • Today’s climate between the United States and Mexico;
  • Current economic trends in Mexico
  • Common cross-cultural challenges for U.S. companies doing business in Mexico
  • Communications tips for conducting business in Mexico –Do’s and Don’ts
  • Avoiding unnecessary missteps when exploring new opportunities or opening new businesses in Mexico.

Our speakers will be Dr. Sandra Correa Suarez and Professor Roberto Hernandez. Dr. Saurez is a Professor of Peninsular and Latin American Studies at Arizona State University and serves as the Coordinator for the ASU Spanish program for business professionals.  Professor Hernandez is an acclaimed architect in Phoenix that has worked extensively in Mexico.
